MY STORY
I'm Jo!
hey
The body fascinates me! I have always been curious about health and well-being. I'm amazed by how the body functions, how it performs, and its ability to adapt and heal itself. My journey started when I became a chiropractic assistant. I wore many hats; From taking X-rays to client education, along with insurance, working with the Doctor, and client care, I gained a strong foundation in the body, knowledge of the spine, the nervous system, and the importance of body awareness. I was considering going to Chiropractic school, but all I knew was I wanted to work with clients and have a direct connection with helping their bodies function and their overall well-being.
When I found massage, I felt right at home! I became a certified massage practitioner in 2001. I was so hungry for knowledge I became nationally certified in 2007 and Board certified in 2016. I take pride in continually learning new techniques about the body, processes, and health practices to better assist and holistically guide my clients toward healthier lifestyles.
Over my 23 years as a massage therapist I’ve come to strongly believe that, although our bodies fundamentally have the same parts, we DO NOT process all things the same such as stress, injury, recovery, trauma, diet, etc. Because of this, I look at all aspects of clients to customize massages for their needs. When I work with clients, I use many modalities in energy and touch for each session along with educating and sharing wellness practices.

My passion for massage and healthy living encourages and educates clients on how amazing their bodies are guiding clients in a prevention mindset helping empower them to practice self-advocacy for overall health and happiness.
I am board-certified through NCBTMB (National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork). I have been a member of ABMP (Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals) since 2001. I have been a member of AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) since 2014. I became an AMTA board member in 2019 and was nominated to represent Delaware at CVOP (Chapter Volunteer Orientation Program) for the national convention in 2019. This led to being asked to step in as AMTA Delaware Chapter President in 2023 during that time I got the ball rolling to transition the state to a one-tier LMT classification. In 2024 I was elected AMTA Delaware Chapter President. In the 1st half of 2024 Our Chapter Board, the AMTA National Government Relations team, a Delaware lobbyist, and the support of Delaware legislators we were able to get SB277 passed on June 20th. I had the pleasure of representing Delaware at AMTA's 2024 National Convention for VLC (Volunteer Leadership Conference)
